 It all began with Laura's father, Don Walker. He was a well known gold jewelry designer in Southern California since 1946. Laura became his student along with Robert Hoag who became a Master Goldsmith. Laura became a gold nugget jewelry designer in her own right.Robert and Laura married and moved to Jamestown in the Sierra Nevada foothills of California and brought the family-run gold jewelry business calling it Woods Creek Jewelry.
